The Family Tree of Milk - Poster

144,39 kr. DKK

I will donate $5 USD to Farmkind for every poster sold!

Milk accounts for 5% of all the calories that people consume around the world. In Europe it's closer to 10%. That's a lot for a single food source. Throughout the years, humans have found a lot of ways to eat or drink it. Even before we knew what proteins were, we knew how to separate them from the rest of the milk. And even before we knew of the existence of bacteria, we knew how to use the good ones to prevent the bad ones from spoiling the milk!

This poster shows the production process of 34 dairy products that are most common in the western world. But don't be fooled. There are thousands upon thousands of dairy products! Most of them follow similar steps. Acidification to separate the protein, fermentation for longer shelf life with skimming and churning for separating the fat. With this poster you will have a decent understanding of any dairy product you might encounter.

I'd love to see where you hang it! Feel free to send a picture in the Discord chat or tag me on Instagram.

Love,
Aldo

Tips for hanging:

A frame will always work well of course, but if you want to hang your poster on it's own there are a few good options. If you want to stick it to the wall, you're best off to make little squares of wide transparant packing tape and stick them on the back. Then use double sided tape or tack on the back of those tape squares to stick it to something. That way the paper wont tear if you ever remove or re-hang it.

Sticking the 4 corners down is enough for the small one. I'd recommend a grid of 9 for the big poster.

The posters come rolled up. You can roll them in the other direction for an hour or 2 to get them flat, or flatten them with books on the ends overnight.
